Coffee is a huge source of energy, happiness, and strength. In fact, conversing with a coffee lover might be intimidating before they have their lips kissed by their favorite cup of coffee. Stress increases the secretion of the stress hormone “cortisol”, and reduces the secretion of the happy hormone, serotonin, and feel-good hormone, dopamine. Coffee helps release and affect a lot of our hormones and restores their levels in the body temporarily. Coffee stimulates the release of Dopamine which is a pleasure-based neurotransmitter.
The presence of this feel-good hormone helps deal with stress easily. Coffee also injects adrenaline which is the fight or flight hormone. The increase in the release of adrenaline in the body increases the level of glucose .
Caffeine helps us stay alert in the short run as it decreases the level of adenosine which is the calming hormone, a study from the Harvard School of Public Health says that two-three cups of coffee cuts down suicide risk by 45%. The benefits of sipping a few cups of coffee are beneficial only in the short-run.
A temporary hormone rush right after sipping a cup of coffee feels great but has got its side effects too while taking into concern the long term. Too much caffeine intake leads to, insomnia, digestive issues, High Blood Pressure,
.An excessive intake of caffeine often worsens symptoms of anxiety. Often it leads to caffeine addiction which is dangerous and harmful for both physical and mental health. While it is completely okay to sip a cup of coffee once in a while, Avoiding a caffeine overdose is mostly advised by experts all around the globe.
